seems like u r no longer missing ur friends .... no updates !!!!!!!!!!!!!!! "

Well, webkid and my other audience... i know its been a long time since i
posted last, actually i was tied up with things and in the remaining time
i was too lazy to blog
but that doesn't mean i was not visiting places in Melbourne, i have been
visiting lot of places in and out of Melbourne and i must say i haven't
seen so many different kind of places in and around one place, you have beaches,
you have beautiful mountains, ski resorts, naval port areas, beautiful landscapes,
valleys, wineries and the list goes on...

well, first i thought of putting it all in one big post but then it would have been hard for me
to write and for you guys to read...
so i will be writing in parts about my past few days experiences....

To begin with, Werribee Open range zoo,
this was one of the first places i visited after my last post...
this place was around 50 mins from Melbourne and i took a train from Melbourne,
before i say, rather write anything else i must say travelling in and
out of Melbourne is a breeze.
you just have to take a pass(daily, weekly, monthly) and you
can roam as much as you want in all kind of public transports - trams, trains,
buses, anything except taxis...
so you just don't have to think twice while going out, everything is well connected and
frequency is also good, so you see any bus, train or bus...wanna board... just hop in...
you will not be lost or stuck at any place due to lack of transportation....
and everywhere you are provided with detailed info about what route you will be traveling on
and how much time you have to wait for next transportation and things like
that and frequency between most of the routes is very good...
so it makes all your travel completely painless...

ok, so i reached Werribee.. it's a kind of suburban area...
now as i have been to more places like this, i think i enjoy melborune suburban areas more
compared to city.
these are like calm and quite places, with a small town kinda look and feel...

Werribee open range zoo is a wildlife safari with animals from all over the world put
in different sections like Asian, American and Australian...
you get a guided tour of the safari in a van, if you lucky you get to see lions also,
up, close and personal..

There's another tourist attraction called the mansion near by,
which is a big 60 room mansion with beautiful gardens and when i say big, it means really BIG....
if you have time which unfortunately i didn't have, you can also visit shadowfax winery nearby...

I have also been to Crown Casino and entertainment complex
which is quite popular...
it's a big place but still is quite packed, so many ppl trying their luck and srcreaming
when they hit a jackpot........

I have also been to one of the most popular tourist attractions of Australia,
The Twelve Apostles via The Great Ocean Road....

This is a must visit for everyone visiting Australia and you should take
Great ocean road to reach to twelve apostles...ok before i go further,
twelve apostles are made up of 12 rocks at the sea side and they look
really beautiful....standing alone and away from the beach and other rocks,
before this i had seen them in some Indian movies...but seeing them in
limestone and sand(as in flesh and blood) was a great experience,
the whole place is so windy and cold if you go in winters but its worth it...
and the road you take to reach there is awesome..
on one side of the road you have sea and other side you have beautiful landscapes...
its considered Australia's one of the most beautiful coastal sceneries...
check this & this out to know what i am talking about...

you also have some shipwreck sights there...in between we stopped at a town called Torquay, which
is considered surfer's paradise... the weather was not very good that day but still
you see lot of surfers riding the monster waves...
you can also stop at Lorne which is a small town, i wish i could go and stay there for a weekend
and enjoy the beautiful sceneries around me...

I have also been to Williamstown, this is the place about which you can't write much, you have
to be there to enjoy it....
Williamstown has a sea port, shipyard and a WW2 war ship known as H.M.S CastleMaine which is
converted into a Museum so you get to see what all war equipments were used at that time,
how those sailors used to live,
man!! those guys were really short of space but it does feel good to stand
on the deck of a warship next to a big gun which can bring down enemy ships in no time....
and there's no better way to go to Williamstown than to go by ferry or river cruise...
you pass by naval ports, merchant ships and beautiful sail boats, it's just awesome...

I thought to keep this post short, but it has become big anyway, so thats all for now folks...more to come in next posts...
keep visiting....

Ok - If you get the chance, go and check out Ballarat, it was a town established in the Gold Rush, I recommend you check out Sovereign Hill, its a hisotric town with attractions based on the day - i.e. 1850's etc. acouple hours further down the road is a mountain range called the Grampians, it has some of the best bushwalks and trails, along with sights in Victoria!

My favorite place to go in Melbourne is a place called Sky High, its at the top of Mount Dandenong, and on a clear night, you can see all of Melbourne... it's a nice place to take girls on dates

BAM!!!
